I’m a sociologist interested in bullying, belonging, and resilience among college students. I’m also a fiction writer!

Earning a D+ in freshman year at Seton Hall was a gut punch that nearly convinced me I didn’t belong in college. But instead of quitting, I came up with a strategy that I still follow today. Often it doesn’t work and I fails like everyone else, so learning the power of resilience was the biggest game changer for me. In my talks on bullying and belonging, I share many of these lessons learned.

Outside of work, I am a fiercely passionate fan of the entire Star Wars universe. In 2020, I co-founded The Mudtroopers, a group of sci-fi fans that still meet in person and online to discuss classic films and TV shows. I also spend my time droning, building robots, and video editing.
